Newsworthy is looking for energetic and experienced web developers to join our team! Our new service, NewsworthyAudio, is a personal audio news service aimed at news-hungry consumers. NewsworthyAudio customers describe the news they wish to hear by specifying preferences such as publisher, topic, or keyword. NewsworthyAudio periodically searches its content databases for news and entertainment articles that match the customer’s preferences. It converts print and web-based content to audio using advanced text-to-speech technology. NewsworthyAudio then creates multiple audio playlists and podcasts of the customer's preferred articles and automatically downloads them to the customer’s PC and MP3 player.

As a web developer in this fast-moving development team, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Design and implement the public web interface for the NewsworthyAudio service.
  • Design and implement the corporate web site as well as web access interfaces for our partners.
  • Design and implement web application that will help our customers to manage and play subscribed content, downloaded audio files.
  • Participate in the design of our production system architecture from group up.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years in web development using Microsoft technologies, including ASP, ASP.NET, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.
  • 5+ years experience in managing web servers and applications on Microsoft IIS.
  • 2+ years experience with Microsoft .Net framework.
  • 2+ years building web applications using C# or VB.Net.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Knowledge and experience with Windows application development using C/C++ is a big plus.
  • Graphical design experience is a plus.
